KATHMANDU: The inaugural session of CPN-UML’s Bagmati Province Convention is set to kick off today.
UML Chairman KP Oli will inaugurate the opening ceremony at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu.
Keshab Pandey, Chairman of UML Bagmati Province, confirmed the readiness of all arrangements for this event.
Preceding the inauguration, UML is organizing rallies from six different locations within Kathmandu.
This convention will see the participation of a substantial 1,138 representatives from 13 districts.
According to Badal Pandey, 132 representatives hail from Kavre, 125 from Kavre, 106 from Makwanpur, 87 from Dhading, 85 from Chitwan, 81 from Ramechhap, 66 from Bhaktapur, 66 from Sindhuli, 65 from Dolakha, 64 from Sindhupalchowk, 64 from Nuwakot, 50 from Lalitpur, and 27 from Rasuwa.
Furthermore, 95 representatives have been elected from various people’s organizations.
The closed session of the convention is slated to commence tomorrow (Tuesday).
During the convention, a committee comprising 240 members, including a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and two deputy secretaries, will be elected.
Several leaders have expressed their desire to assume the role of provincial Chairperson.
