The Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality is going to organize a workshop aimed at the promotion of the district’s religious, cultural and tourist sites.

The workshop will be held at different places in the municipality where renowned painters from 14 different countries including Australia, the USA, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, South Korea, Ukraine, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Egypt, India and other countries would attend the event, Mayor Tirtha Raj Bhattarai said.

Famous painters and artists from within and outside the country would paint the scenes of the municipality and other important locations on their canvas.

Mayor Bhattarai said that attempts will be made to depict the importance and activities of all sites of the district in the workshop.

“We plan to promote tourism of the district by spreading identity of Khotang at home and abroad through the means of paintings and cultures,” Mayor Bhattarai added.

The live painting workshop and exhibition would contribute to the publicity of the district’s treasures, the Mayor said at a news conference on Sunday.

Likewise, some of the paintings by the artists would be taken to the Kathmandu Art Gallery and an exhibition would be conducted there too.
