OKHALDHUNGA: Siddhicharan Highway has been blocked by a landslide since this morning.

The landslide triggered by incessant rains since Thursday obstructed the highway in the Bhusune jungle area.

District Police Office, Okhaldhunga’s information officer and police inspector Balistar Singh confirmed the occurrence of the landslide at Bhusune, leaving the highway impassable for vehicles.

A team from the temporary police post Ketuke has been deputed to clear off the landslide depositions.

Following the highway disruption, vehicles en route to Kathmandu and eastern Terai districts from Okhaldhunga and neighboring Solukhumbu have been left stranded at Milanchowk Ramailodanda of Okhaldhunga.

The incessant rains have caused increasing risk for the movement in rural roads in the district.

Most of the rural roadways in the district have currently remained inoperative owing to monsoon impacts.
