SC hearing on ‘contempt of court’ case filed against Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is hearing the writ on the ‘contempt of court’ allegation filed against the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen).

The writ is designated to the single bench of Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana.

Advocate Barsha Kumari Jha had filed the contempt of court case against Mayor Shah.

Following the Supreme Court verdict against his decision to ban Hindi films in Kathmandu, Kathmandu Mayor Shah said that he would defy any event, activity, or order that is against nationality and the nation.

He also termed the court as ‘India influenced’.
