RSP Chair Lamichhane hints at withdrawing support to government

CHITWAN: Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has said that his party would “reconsider” the support given to the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government.

Speaking to journalists in Bharatpur on Tuesday morning, Lamichhane said that it would not be reasonable to continue supporting the government as the Common Minimum Program (CMP) of the government does not include an investigation into corruption cases.

“We will go to Kathmandu and discuss the support given to the government after the counting of votes is completed,” said Lamichhane.

Even though RSP has quit the Prime Minister Dahal-led government, the party had not withdrawn its support to the government.

After the by-elections, the RSP will have 21 MPs in the House of Representatives.
