Rabi Lamichhane elected from Chitwan-2

Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Lamichhane garners 54,276 votes



KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has been elected as Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan Constituency-2.

A by-election was held in the constituency on Sunday.

Lamichhane garnered 54,276 votes while his closest contender Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Jitnarayan Shrestha, also the common candidate of the ruling alliance, got 11,114 votes.

Earlier in the elections held on November 20, 2023, Lamichhane was elected from this constituency by garnering 49,300 votes.

A total of 78,277 votes were cast in the by-election held on Sunday in Chitwan-2.

Similarly, another contender — CPN-UML’s Ram Prasad Neupane — secured 10,936 votes.

As many as 870 votes were invalidated.
