UML has not regretted regressive moves, Janamorcha supports NC candidate Poudel: Chitra Bahadur KC

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman and lawmaker Chitra Bahadur KC has said that the CPN-UML has not backed down from the objective of regression yet, so, his party would support Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Ramchandra Paudel for the presidency.

Issuing a statement in Kathmandu on Saturday, former Deputy Prime Minister clarified that Janamorcha opted to vote NC presidential candidate Paudel as UML leadership has been continuously trying to impose regression in the country for the past two years.

“Even now, the leadership of CPN-UML has not retreated from the objective of regression. UML has no remorse over its regressive moves like attempting to dissolve parliament twice in six months, undervaluing the parliament by disrupting it for nine months and depriving the parliamentarians from raising the voices of the people in the parliament, it is clear in front of everyone that UML leadership will try the same again, so, we have decided to support Ram Chandra Paudel’s candidacy for President,” he said.

UML Vice Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang and NC senior leader Ramchandra Paudel have registered their candidacy for the presidential election to be held on March 9.

NC leader Paudel has also been supported by the CPN-Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, CPN-Unified Socialist Party, Janamat Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal Samajbadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Rastriya Janamorcha.
