Precious stones collected from Kaligandaki for building Shreeram’s statue in India



KATHMANDU: Precious stones, sheela, have been collected from the Kaligandaki River to make God statue at a temple in Ayodhya of India.

Balrupa statue of Lord Ram will be made by the sheela, the gemstone found only in the Kaligandaki in the world. Ayodhya is the famous religious place of Hindu people in India.

The gemstones were collected from the river bank at ThuloPahiro in Beni Municipality-6 of Myagdi district. The gemstones were sent to Galeshwors after collection.

Mayor at Beni Municipality Surat KC informed that the gemstones would be worshipped with special function on Thursday, the auspicious day of Basantapanchami.

Last Sunday, Gandaki Province Chief Prithvi Man Gurung had conducted chhyama puja (forgiveness worshipping) and handed over three gemstones to Ramtapeshwor Das, priest of Janakpur Temple, Rajendra Sing Pankaj, secretary of Rammandir construction committee of Ayodhya in a symbolic manner.

As per government decision, the gemstones weighting 18 and 16 metric tons apiece would be sent to Ayodhya, India.

The gemstones would be sent at the auspicious hour of Shree Panchami.
