Seventh Parbat Festival kicks off



KUSHMA: The Seventh Parbat Festival has kicked off today in the district headquarters, Kushma Bazaar.

Minister for Health and Population Padam Giri is inaugurated the 10-day fair that aims to develop economy and tourism in the district, said the Parbat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). Of the total 250 stalls allocated for the festival, most of them have been booked, and over Rs 50 million is estimated to be transacted, it said.

Kushma Bungee Jump, zipflyer, rafting in the Kaligandaki river, Nepal’s tallest and longest suspension bridge, Kushma-Balewa Mechanical Bridge, a view of Gupteshwor and Alapeshwor caves, clothing of ‘Allo’, Nepali paper of ‘Lokta’, orange juice, honeybee, medicinal herbs, ginger, and national food dishes are among main attraction of the fair, it has been said.

Various sports competitions like volleyball, open race, archery will be organized along with musical programs.

There will be an exhibition of industries, educational, agricultural products.

Photo exhibition will also take place, said the fair coordinator Thakurbi Paudel.
