Politics has only given pain to the country: Former Chief Justice Shrestha

KATHMANDU – Former Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha has made remarks suggesting that politics has only brought distress to the country.

He depicted politics as an unproductive sector and highlighted the inability of politics to provide a livable situation within the nation.

Speaking at an event held in Kathmandu on Sunday, the former Chief Justice expressed his concern about politics in the country being unable to offer solutions to the prevailing issues.

Shrestha’s statement emphasized the deteriorating and unproductive nature of the country’s politics, pushing Nepalis abroad in increasing numbers.

“What bothers me is that politics hasn’t been able to bring about a solution. Politics is deteriorating. It’s unproductive. Instead of enhancing the country’s glory, it’s causing pain. I apologize if it’s offensive, but I say this because it needs to be said,” the former Chief Justice remarked.
