Key political leaders meet at Baluwatar 

A significant meeting took place on Sunday morning at Baluwatar, featuring key political figures, including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The gathering included Chairman of CPN UML KP Sharma Oli, President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak. The primary agenda of the meeting was to finalize matters related to transitional justice, a critical and sensitive aspect within the political landscape.

UML’s campaign dispelled erroneous narratives: KP Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli asserted that the ‘Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjang Campaign,’ spanning 18 days, countered misguided remarks seeking to politically revive the monarchy. Speaking at a press conference at the party office in Chyasal on Sunday, Oli shared insights, evaluations, and messages gathered throughout the journey. “Certain statements were made within this period, suggesting a return to monarchy, but we reject notions that disrupt social harmony and unity,” Oli emphasized.

Judicial Council recommends Kunwar and Paudel as High Court Judges

The Judicial Council (JC) has recommended Supreme Court Chief Registrar Lal Bahadur Kunwar and Registrar Nirmala Paudel as judges of the High Court. The JC meeting, held today, proposed Kunwar to be appointed as a High Court Judge in Patan, while Paudel is recommended for the position in High Court Pokhara.

Over 4,000 electric vehicles imported in five months

In the past five months, the importation of electric vehicles (EVs) has surged, with a remarkable tally exceeding 4,000. Among these, 4,042 electric vehicles, encompassing both private vehicles and micros, have made their way into the country. Breaking down the figures, a notable 1,595 car jeeps with power ratings up to 50 kW were among the imported vehicles during this period.

260 rescued from Birgunj transit point in a year

A total of 260 individuals believed to be at risk of trafficking were rescued from the Birgunj transit point along the Nepal-India border in Parsa in a period of one year. Among them, 257 are women and girls while three were male children. The majority of those rescued hail from Parsa, Sarlahi, Dhanusha and Mahottari districts in Madhesh Province and Jhapa in Koshi Province.

Nepal sending special souvenirs for Ram Mandir installation

Special souvenirs are being sent from Nepal on the occasion of Sri Ram Mandir Installation Ceremony to be held in Ayodhya, India. A Janakpurdham-Ayodhyadham journey will be carried out to deliver the special souvenirs. The souvenirs will consist of various types of jewellery, utensils, clothes and sweets.
