UML chair  Oli slams  NC President Deuba, claims he sacrificed democracy for PM Dahal

OKHALDHUNGA: KP Oli, Chairman of the CPN-UML, strongly criticized the role of the Nepali Congress (NC) in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s’ cabinet, alleging that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has become subservient to the CPN-Maoist Center Chairman.

Inaugurating Guru Luintel Park in Okhaldhunga on Sunday, the leader of the main opposition party in parliament, Oli, asserted that Deuba is prioritizing PM Dahal’s interests over defending democracy.

“Let’s set aside discussions about the Nepali Congress for today. Although NC cadres listening to me may be displeased, the truth remains that Sher Bahadurji is acting as Prachanda’s ally, rather than safeguarding democracy,” he remarked.

Oli further contended that the government has failed to effectively combat gold smuggling.
