CIAA files corruption aase against former Simraungadh Chief Administrative Officer, others



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against five individuals, which includes the former Chief Administrative Officer of Bara Simraungad Municipality.

CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal announced on Sunday that the Authority has lodged a corruption case against these individuals in the Special Court.

The accused in this case are Chief Administrative Officer Bishwaraj Marasini, Accounts Officer Sarmendra Prasad Chaudhary, President of the Building Construction Committee of Janata High School, Ram Babu Prasad Yadav, Secretary Ramakanta Prasad, and Treasurer Kiran Devi Yadav.

According to spokesperson Dahal, these individuals are alleged to have engaged in financial irregularities during the construction of the Janata High School building in Simraungarh Municipality-8, Kachorwa.

The investigation revealed that Chief Administrative Officer Marasini and Accounts Officer Sarmendra Prasad Chaudhary made payments exceeding the amounts stipulated in the notes that approved the evaluation and payments prepared by the technician.

As a result, it is alleged that government funds were misappropriated, leading to a loss of Rs 6,58,440.
