10 local govts make FY 2023/24 budget public



KATHMANDU: Out of 753 local governments across the country, 10 have made a public budget for the next fiscal year 2023/24.

According to the Local Government Operation Act, the local governments should bring an annual budget before Asar 10 (June 25).

Ten local governments have unveiled the budget in line with the Act, and the remaining will follow suit tomorrow, said the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

The local governments unveiling the annual budget include two from Koshi Province, one from Madhes Province, one from Bagmati Province, four from Gandaki Province, and two from Sudurpaschim Province.

Among them, Deumai Municipality of Ilam District, Jahada Rural Municipality of Morang District (Koshi Province), Ekdara Rural Municipality of Mahottari District (Madhes Province), Nilkantha Municipality of Dhading (Bagmati Province), Putalibazaar Municipality of Syangja, Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality of Gorkha, Raghuganga Rural Municipality of Myagdi and Gharpajhong of Mustang (Gandaki Province), and Duhun Rural Municipality of Darchula (Sudurpaschim Province) introduced budget on June 22.

Similarly, Janaki Rural Municipality of Kailali (Sudurpaschim Province) made public the budget on June 23.
