UML to quit Bagmati Province Government



HETAUDA: The CPN-UML has decided to quit the Bagmati Province Government.

UML leader, who is also the spokesperson of Bagmati Province Government, Jagannath Thapaliya confirmed that his party’s ministers will resign from the ministerial berth after addressing the province assembly meeting today.

It is said that Nepali Congress (NC) will join the Bagmati Province Government after the UML leaders’ resignation from their ministerial position.

Five political parties including the UML and Maoist Centre had joined the coalition government led by Maoist Centre leader Shalikram Jammakattel.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had already quit the Jammakattel-led government.

As the RPP and UML withdrew their support to the Jammakattel-led government, Chief Minister Jammakattel is taking a vote of confidence today as per the Article 188 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
