NC to finalize its presidential candidate on Feb 25

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) will finalize the name of the presidential candidate only after discussing with other political parties to ensure “national consensus”.

Party insiders said that NC will finalize the name of the presidential candidate only on Saturday (February 25) — the day to file nominations for the presidential election.

A meeting of the party’s central executive committee to be held on Saturday morning will finalize the name of the presidential candidate.

NC Senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula are aspiring to become the country’s President.

Meanwhile, NC leaders are holding talks with other political parties, including the Maoist Center on the issue.

The presidential election will be held on March 9.

Nepali Congress is confident about getting the President by reviving the pre-election coalition.
