Narayangadh-Muglin road section to close for four hours

CHITWAN: Commencing today, daily transportation along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section will pause for four hours owing to the ongoing construction of a bridge at Tuin Khola.

The road closure will span from 11 AM to 3 PM, impacting traffic across various areas in Chitwan and Tanahun districts.

As per Krishna Acharya, the information officer from the Western section of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Narayangadh-Muglin), passenger-carrying vehicles will operate from Pandhrakilo Bazaar to Jugedi till 10:40 AM, while cargo vehicles will have access from Bhateri Jungle to Ramnagar until 10:30 AM.

Vehicles transporting passengers departing from Kathmandu will have passage from Muglin Bazaar to Manakamana Cable Car until 10:55 AM, while cargo vehicles will be allowed until 10:45 AM.

Similarly, vehicles carrying passengers from Pokhara will be allowed from Beni Tower to Powerhouse until 10:55 AM, while cargo vehicles can proceed up to Satrasaya Phant until 10:45 AM.

Initially, the road will close for three weeks to facilitate the bridge construction. Although similar closures occurred last year, challenges arose due to rugged terrain, prompting the suspension of work for explosive installation. Acharya confirmed that final preparations for the explosion have been completed, allowing the temporary closure to resume the roadwork.

Last year, 25 meters of the hill were excavated, leaving 35 meters to be cleared. This road section caters to over 10,000 vehicles daily.

The District Traffic Police Office in Chitwan has recommended using alternative routes during the four-hour closure.
