KATHMANDU: Tensions escalated today as the CPN-UML-affiliated youth organization, Yuva Sangh, and activist Durga Prasai’s group clashed during separate demonstrations at Balkhu.

Both groups organized mass gatherings and demonstrations across the Kathmandu Valley today.

In anticipation of potential conflicts, the government deployed a significant number of security personnel in the valley and issued an advisory urging everyone to minimize vehicular movements unless absolutely necessary.
