Yuwa Sangh and Durga Prasain holding separate demonstrations in Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, is set for a day of activism as two entities, CPN-UML’s fraternal organization Yuwa Sangh and businessman and campaigner Durga Prasai’s campaign are poised to hold separate demonstrations today.

Yuwa Sangh plans to convene a mass assembly in Tinkune, strategically covering the three corners of Kathmandu, as part of a grand campaign coordinated by Prasai.

Meanwhile, Prasai is organizing a demonstration in Balkhu.

The Yuwa Sangh has articulated its intent to protest against the prevailing lawlessness and anarchy in the country, while Prasai characterizes their movement as a free civil initiative.

The Yuwa Sangh’s agenda includes a procession from Sallaghari in Bhaktapur, culminating in a meeting at Tinkune at 11 am.

Simultaneously, the Prasain’s mass assembly is scheduled to start at 1 pm in Balkhu.

Given the convergence of these two demonstrations on the same day, the Valley Police Office has implemented a comprehensive security plan for today.

Under the leadership of DIG Lalmani Acharya, a command center has been established to prevent clashes between the two opposing groups and to ensure a stringent security apparatus throughout the city.
