Kathmandu witnesses midnight tremor

KATHMANDU: Seismologists said that the midnight earthquake in Kathmandu and its surrounding districts was an aftershock stemming from the 2015 earthquake.

Seismologist Dr. Lokvijay Adhikari stated that the 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck at 1:19 last night, with its epicenter just above Chitlang in Makwanpur.

According to him, it was not a new earthquake but an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake.

The seismic activity was felt in Dhading and Kathmandu districts, in addition to Makwanpur.
