Chatur Bahadur Chand re-elected as CAN President

KATHMANDU: Chatur Bahadur Chand has secured a second term as President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) in the election held on Saturday.

Chand’s re-election took place on Saturday, solidifying his position as the head of Nepal’s cricket governing body.

In addition to Chand’s re-election, Roshan Bahadur Singh, who previously held the role of treasurer, has also been elected unopposed as the Vice President of CAN. This transition reflects the trust placed in Singh’s leadership within the organization.

Furthermore, Padma Bahadur Khadka has been chosen as the new Treasurer of CAN. Notably, this marks Khadka’s first involvement in the CAN working committee, highlighting the organization’s commitment to fresh perspectives.

Chand expressed his gratitude for the unanimous support and emphasized the growing responsibilities that come with his renewed mandate. He articulated his vision for the future, stating, “Now, we must lay the groundwork for Test cricket. We are actively engaging with the government to drive progress. Cricket is poised to reach new heights.”
