45th Memorial Day of Pushpa Lal being observed



KATHMANDU: The 45th Memorial Day of founding General-Secretary of Communist Party of Nepal, Pushpa Lal, is being marked across the country today by organizing various programs.

Different communist parties and their sister organisations are observing the Memorial Day by organizing programs.

The Communist Party of Nepal was established under leadership of Pushpa Lal in 1949.

The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) and the main opposition party, CPN-UML, have made preparation to member contribution of Pushpa Lal by organizing various programs.

Similarly, the CPN (Unified Socialist) is organising a programme at Pushpa Lal Memorial Park.

Likewise, other communist parties are observing the 45th Pushpa Lal Memorial Day.

Born on 1981 BS at Bhangeri of Ramechhap district, Pushpa Lal had set a goal of building a prosperous nation and fulfilling the task of real liberation of the Nepali people while establishing the Communist Party of Nepal.

Pushpa Lal is known for uniting the Communist and Democratic forces for fighting against the autocratic Panchyat system.

Vice-Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pampha Bhusal, said although the need of unified communist party was realized with a goal of fulfilling the dreams of top communist leaders and cadres including Pushpa Lal, it has not been materialized yet.

She further said the goal of socialism could not be achieved unless a strong communist party is formed.

Four left parties–CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal have formed a socialist front with the aim of party unification and implementing the socialist program.
