Govt. to provide internet services to all schools

KATHMANDU: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has announced to ensure entire telecommunications services to 14 districts, two each from seven provinces across the country.

Minister Sharma said that two districts from each province would be provided with entire telecommunications-related services in this fiscal year.

She, however, said that issues could emerge for a lack of coordination among the government agencies in infrastructure development.

Sharma asked the lines agencies to coordinate while developing the infrastructure of roads, drinking water, electricity and telecommunications.

Likewise, Minister Sharma stated that coordination is taking place with the Ministry of Forest since issues have emerged in the expansion of telephone optical fiber and tower development in the forest areas and national parks.

Similarly, preparations were on to ensure internet services to all schools across the country by this fiscal year which is aimed at making education technology-driven.
