CAVA Women’s Challenge Cup: Nepal and India reach semi-finals



KATHMANDU: In the CAVA Women’s Challenge Volleyball Championship, host Nepal and India have reached the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Nepal reached the semi-finals with its second consecutive victory.

Nepal defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in straight sets while winning the second match.

In the third match of the day played at the covered hall in Tripureshwar, Nepal won the first set 25-10, the second 25-8, and the third set 25-9.

With the win, Nepal, in Group A, has tied the points with India. India and Nepal have the same 6 points each.

The winner of the group will be decided by the match between India and Nepal tomorrow.

Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan have been eliminated from the tournament.

Earlier in the first match today, India defeated the Kyrgyzstan team by 3-0 in straight sets. India defeated Kyrgyzstan 25-3, 25-9, and 25-6.

Similarly, in the second match, Kazakhstan defeated Sri Lanka 3-1.

Kazakhstan won the first and second sets 25-16 and 28-26. The third set was won by Sri Lanka 25-18. Kazakhstan won the very competitive fourth set 29-27 in their favor against Sri Lanka.
