HoR session: lawmakers drew government attention to various issues

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers in a session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today drew the government’s attention towards various contemporary issues including the need to promote good governance, control floods and landslides, manage border disputes, address the citizenship issue, and other public concerns.

They also raised issues ranging from the struggles of Kapilvastu sugarcane farmers to get grants to the removal of a biography about Dr. Sanduk Ruit from the grade 10 curriculum.

The lawmakers speaking in the zero-hour session demanded the government bring all those involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam under the purview of law, facilitate the process for bringing bodies of Nepali migrant workers to home, lobby for climate change finance, and ensure smooth supplies of fertilizers to farmers and promote the rights of school staffs.

Those airing views in the zero-hour in the HoR session today were Buddhiman Tamang, Bhagawati Chaudhary, Bhanubhakta Joshi, Bhim Prasad Acharya, Man Bahadur Gurung, Manish Jha, Mahindra Kumar Ray, Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, Mahesh Basnet, Madhav Sapkota, Manbir Rai, Gupta Kumari Yadav, Menakakumari Pokharel, Maina Karki, Mangal Prasad Gupta, Manju Sharma, Yogendra Mandal, and Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai.

Similarly, Raghuji Pant, Rana Kumari Balampaki Magar, Ranju Kumari Jha, Rama Koirala Poudyal, Raju Thapa, Rajendra Kumar Rai, Ram Kumar Rai, Ram Krishna Yadav, Ramnath Adhikari, Ramshankar Yadav, Ramhari Khatiwada, Rukmini Rana Baraili, Rupa Chaudhary, Rekha Yadav, Roshan Karki, Laxmi Tiwari, Leeladevi Limbu, Leelanath Shrestha, Lekhnath Dahal, and Ranedra Baraili took part in the zero hours of the session.
