Voting resumes at Naya Kiran Secondary School polling center in Chitwan

CHITWAN: The voting process that was suspended after dispute over Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidates and CPN-UML, ruling alliance candidates has been resumed at the Naya Kiran Secondary School polling center in Bharatpur-11, Chitwan.

According to Assistant Election Officer at the Office of the Chief Returning Officer Ishwori Acharya, the voting resumed after an all party meeting agreed to take the voting process ahead.

Earlier, the voting had to be stopped as the leaders and cadres of rival political parties protested, saying supporters of RSP chairman Lamichhane chanted slogans as he turned to the polling booth.

Representatives of the rest of the political parties accused the Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate of violating the election code of conduct by carrying out sloganeering.
