Call for proper management of Raute community

DAILEKH: Authorities concerned have demanded the proper management of the Raute community.

The government should accord high priorities to the nomadic group, they said.

The government at all three central, provincial and local levels should be serious about the management of the community, demanded Loman Sharma, mayor of Narayan Municipality at an event here.

“The government should provide essentials to them after identifying their actual problems,” he said.

Stating that alcohol consumption rampantly has caused damage to their health, Raju Shrestha, former president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dailekh, demanded that the government provides them with nutritious food.

It should also focus on creating a market for the products they produce, he added.

Social worker Yubaraj Shahi stressed the need for all to help save the community from alcohol abuse and create a climate wherein they become self-reliant.

The government at all three levels should deploy a team to monitor their activities, viewed a local Padam Thapa.

“Else, their existence gets threatened,” he said.
