Bara-2 sees around five percent voter turnout as of now



BARA: Voting has begun at all polling centers in Bara Constituency-2 at 7 am today.

Around five percent of voters cast their vote in a period of one hour, said chief election officer Mukesh Upadhyay.

Arrangements have been made for facilitating pregnant women, disabled people and senior citizens in particular, he said.

Around 2,600 security personnel have been deployed to ensure the by-election takes place in a fair, impartial, peaceful and fearless environment, said Chief District Officer Nabaraj Aapkota.

A total of 138 polling centers for 82 polling stations have been designated.

Of them, 65 have been categorized as highly sensitive, and 17 general, according to the district administration office.

The constituency has a total of 105,248 eligible voters (58,934 men and 46,314 women).

A total of 34 candidates are running from the constituency for the House of Representative seat.
