NC candidate Shrestha casts vote in Chitwan-1



CHITWAN: Nepali Congress candidate in the by-election in Chitwan Constituency-1, Jit Narayan Shrestha, cast his vote in his constituency on Sunday morning.

Shrestha, who is also the common candidate of the ruling coalition, cast his vote at the polling station in Chatumukhi Secondary School at Shaktikhor of Kalika Municipality in Chitwan.

There was an encouraging participation of voters as they queued to exercise their franchise braving hot temperature.

The constituency has a total of 124,695 eligible voters (63,291 women, 61,403 men and a third gender).

The main competitors from the constituency are Nepali Congress Jit Narayan Shrestha from the democratic-left alliance, CPN-UML’s Ram Prasad Neupane and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Rabi Lamichhane.
