KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is currently in session at the Lalitpur-based party headquarters in Chyasal.
The party is gearing up for the “Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjyang March for Prosperity,” set to start from Jhulaghat in Baitadi, with a specific focus on the Mid-hill Highway.
In response to Durga Prasai’s protest program, the UML is organizing a demonstration in Kathmandu on November 23, led by the Yuwa Sangh and termed as a “massive demonstration.”
The heightened attention on the UML meeting is due to the anticipation surrounding party Chairman KP Oli’s presentation and the impending demonstration.
Prasai’s three-day demonstration, reinforced with a 5,000-strong force to counter interference, is expected to add tension to the political landscape.
Despite the UML categorizing Wednesday’s meeting as routine and pre-planned, a senior leader acknowledged the possibility of discussing the November 23 demonstration during the proceedings.
The meeting is expected to conclude today.
