Earthquake damages 20 houses in Dhading

DHADING: The earthquake in Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading on Sunday morning left a trail of destruction, with 20 houses damaged and 75 houses cracked.

Krishna Prasad Kapri, former ward president, confirmed the extent of the damage and ongoing assessment efforts.

Local resident Rajesh Adhikari described the unsettling aftermath, as continuous aftershocks measuring more than four on the Richter scale forced people to seek refuge outside their homes.

Santulal Prasad Jaiswar, the Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, stated that detailed assessments of the damaged properties are currently underway.

The earthquake, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, originated from the former Khari village of Dhading earlier this morning.
