Earthquake destroys 20 houses in Dhading

The earthquake in Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading on Sunday morning has left a trail of destruction, with 20 houses destroyed and 75 houses cracked. Krishna Prasad Kapri, former ward president, confirmed the extent of the damage and ongoing assessment efforts.

Earthquake jolts Kathmandu

An earthquake of 6.1 magnitude shook the Kathmandu Valley during the early hours this morning. The seismic disturbance occurred precisely at 7:39 a.m. with Dhading as the epicenter, causing tremors throughout the region. On Sunday morning, tremors were felt in districts, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, and Chitwan, among others.

Maha Astami observed today

Nepali Hindus throughout the country observed the eighth day of the ten-day-long Bada Dashain festival as the Maha Astami festival by worshipping Goddess Durga Bhawani. On this day, people offer special worships to the goddesses Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Maha Saraswati. This day of the Dashain festival is considered a special day when Goddess Durga attained power.

NAC invites tenders for purchase of three STOL aircraft

The Nepal Air Corporation (NAC) has invited bids for the purchase of three STOL aircraft. Estimated cost of around Rs 3 billion, the NAC is set to purchase the aircraft from internal sources. The NAC invited all interested aircraft manufacturers to submit their sealed proposals for the “Purchase of Three STOL Aircraft”, a notice issued by NAC said on Sunday.

Myagde rural municipality readies building for 10-bed health facility

A 10-bed health facility has been built at Manahari of Myagde rural municipality-4 in the district. The structure was readied by the local government at a cost of Rs 65 million. The local government has announced that healthcare services will begin in the near future and it is committed to providing quality healthcare within the community.

NA officer achieves gold medal in Pakistan

Shreejan Baniya, an officer cadet from the Nepali Army, has been honored with the ‘Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal’ in Pakistan.He received this award as an exceptional foreign cadet during the passing-out ceremony at the Pakistan Military Academy.
