Martyr’s Memorial A Division League: Army wins, Church Boys and Himalayan Sherpa share points

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club beat Friends Club, and Church Boys United and Himalayan Sherpa Club played a tie in the matches held under Martyr’s Memorial A Division League football undergoing in the capital.

The Army defeated Friends Club by 3-0 in the match played at ANFA complex on Monday afternoon.

Jagjit Shrestha scored for Army in the 26th minute of the match.

Similarly, Navyug Shrestha scored in the 75th minute of the game and Sudil Rai scored in injury time.

With the victory, Army has managed to add 29 points while Friends has 21 points.

Likewise, in the match Church Boys United and Himalayan Sherpa played at the Chyasal Ground, both teams played a draw.

In the 13th minute of the game, Church Boys took the lead through Anjan Bista’s goal.

But in the 36th minute, Abayomi Fakunle scored and brought Himalayan to a 1-1 draw.

With this tie, Church Boys is in the top position with 37 points in 20 games. Himalayan Sherpa is in the seventh position with 26 points from 20 matches.
