Police submit investigation report on Fake Bhutanese Refugee case



KATHMANDU: The police have submitted their report on the Fake Bhutanese Refugee case to the district attorney’s office, in Kathmandu, on Monday, after a two-month-long investigation.

Chief Public Prosecutor Achyut Mani Neupane informed that the report was submitted by District Police Range, Kathmandu on Monday afternoon.

“The police have submitted the report after its investigation. We have received it,” he said.

SSP Dan Bahadur Karki, head of Kathmandu Police, also confirmed that the report has been sent for submission.

“We have sent a report. We have provided the public prosecutor with an opinion. We can not offer the details of the content,” he said.

The police have mentioned that they have to demand a huge amount of 270 million rupees in this case.

Although the police had concluded to seek around 260 million rupees, after receiving some more complaints against Angtawa Sherpa, the amount of money has been increased.

Police have arrested 16 people in this case. More than 12 people are still absconding.
