Culture Ministry seeks clarification from Lumbini Development Trust



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation sought a 13-point clarification from the Lumbini Development Trust.

The Ministry has given a deadline of 15 days on 13 different issues to the Trust’s Vice-Chairperson to furnish clarification on the allegations of misuse of power, arbitrary contract deal with the construction company, embezzlement of funds for tender issuance and poor mobilization of donations received from donors.

The Ministry has sought the entire details of the Trust’s decisions on the distribution of different plots, an extension of the deadline with other organizations after the contract termination with Sokyo Japan and other issues.

Furthermore, the Ministry has asked for clarification on millions of embezzlement on tender issuance for the construction of ponds developed by destroying biological creatures on the premises of Mayadevi Temple.

Likewise, the Ministry has asked to furnish details in the clarification on the legal basis for the operation of motorboats, under-construction projects of the Trust, fund mobilization of donors’ support in the past five years including the misuse of Crane Foundation.
