Political achievements endangered from all corners: DPM Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said political achievements are being attacked from all corners.

Addressing an annual general meeting of the Press Centre Nepal Valley Province Committee here today, DPM Shrestha stressed that safeguarding the achievements gained from people’s struggles was the need of the hour.

He shared that works related to transitional justice are yet to be completed, stating that fulfilling the remaining tasks of the peace process is the responsibility of the incumbent government.

DPM Shrestha opined that the remaining tasks of the peace process could be fulfilled only after giving full shape to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons, mentioning that the remaining tasks of the peace process should be completed at any cost.

Safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integrity, self-respect, and strengthening national security are the main tasks of the incumbent government, he viewed.

Press Centre In-charge Maheshwor Dahal said the Press Centre has been raising its voice in favor of working journalists.
