Nepal defeats Laos by 2-0



KATHMANDU: Nepal has made a winning start in the Prime Minister’s Cup Tri-National Football Tournament. In the opening match of the competition, Nepal started victoriously by defeating Laos 2-0.

Anant Tamang and Navayug Shrestha scored goals for Nepal.

In the 31st minute, Anant Tamang opened the account with a header from Naveen Lama’s corner.
Similarly, in the 56th minute, Navyug Shrestha scored another great goal in a half volley from 35 yards away to make Nepal’s lead 2-0.

Navuyug scored his eighth international goal for the national team and his first goal in two years. Earlier, he had scored a goal in a match against Chinese Taipei in the 2021 World Cup qualifiers.
