Mustang-Bhadrapur-Jhapa Gold Cup: Church Boys United playing with Machhindra Club

KATHMANDU: Church Boys United and Machhindra Club of Kathmandu will play in the quarter-final match today of the Mustang-Bhadrapur-Jhapa Gold Cup tourney.

In Tuesday’s game, Sankata Club Kathmandu defeated home team Bhadrapur Blazers 1-0 to book a place in the semi-finals of the first Mustang-Bhadrapur-Jhapa Gold Cup football tournament.

In the quarter-final match held on Tuesday at local Mechi Stadium, Sankata’s Manish Dangi scored the only and decisive goal of the match in the 5th minute of the first half.

Despite good home support, Bhadrapur Blazers could not capitalize on more than a dozen opportunities for a goal throughout the game. After the early goal, Sankata played a defensive game to ensure a win.
