Quake survivor’s family loses infant to pneumonia



JAJARKOT: Hukum Bahadur Pun, whose family has been spending night under tent after the earthquake, lost an infant owing to cold.

Pun is a resident of Bheri municipality, Jajarkot.

The infant was taken to District Hospital for treatment three days back, but she breathed her last during treatment, according to Kali Bahadur Oli, former ward chair of Bheri-2.

Information officer at District Health Service Office, Krishna Bahadur Khatri, informed that the girl child named Niruta was suffering from pneumonia.

She died in course of treatment. Currently, more than 50 children are suffering from cold in Jajarkot.

The number of death toll from cold in the quake-hit settlements has reached 11.

The November 3 earthquake of 6.4-magnitude killed 154 people and injured 346 persons.

Similarly, 26,557 private houses were destroyed while 35,455 houses received partial damage.
