Two dead in motorcycle accidents

HETAUDA: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident last night at Bagjhora of the Bhainse-Hetauda section along the Tribhuvan Highway in Makwanpur.

The motorcycle en route to Bhainse from Heatuda suddenly fell some 300 meters off the road, resulting in the death of rider Sumin Lama of Bhimphedi rural municipality-1, according to District Police Office, Makwanpur. Raman Basnet of Bhimphedi-1 who was pillion riding the bike at the time is being treated in Hetauda Hospital, Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxmi Bhandari said.

Meanwhile, a cyclist died after being hit by a motorcycle in Kailali. The District Police Office, Kailali identified the deceased as Data Prasad Chaudhary,36, of Hasnapur of Joshipur rural municipality-4.

Severely injured in the accident, Chaudhary breathed his last in the course of the treatment at Dhangadhi-based Nisarga Hospital.

Police have detained motorcyclist Sanam Chaudhary of Lamkichuwa municipality-7 for further investigation into the incident.
