KATHMANDU: Badri KC has officially assumed office as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
However, the other two presidential candidates, RK Sharma and Mahesh Shrestha, have raised allegations against the KC camp, claiming that the election was compromised through system hacking. They expressed their frustration, accusing KC of securing victory through manipulation, and vowed to reject the election results.
In spite of the objections raised by the two opposing candidates, the entire working committee, including Badri KC, was sworn in. Subsequently, Shrestha and Sharma’s group called for an impromptu press conference at Hotel Himalaya in the capital, scheduled for 5 pm on Saturday.
RK Sharma, one of the presidential candidates, argued that the purported swearing-in held no validity, asserting that the election lacked the necessary transparency, as it appeared to have been tainted by system manipulation. He commented on the division that had arisen within the Sangh, with the Badri KC faction at the helm of these controversies.
