25-bed hospital in operation in Kurintar

MUGLING: A basic hospital with the capacity of 15 beds has been brought into operation in Kurintar of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan.

The rural municipality brought this hospital into operation after upgrading the then Darechowk Health Post there.

Health Minister of Bagmati Province Uttam Joshi marked the beginning of the services from the hospital on Friday and stated that the hospital should be developed as a trauma centre since it is close to the country’s busiest highway, Prithvi Highway.

The people from Chitwan, Tanahun, Gorkha and Dhading would get direct benefit from the services of this hospital.

Likewise, the building for the hospital is under construction at Kurintar bazaar with the federal government’s Rs 130 million in assistance, the rural municipality’s chairman Dan Bahadur Gurung said.

Gurung said that hospital’s services would be further expanded after the completion of the building construction.

Currently, two medical doctors and 13 other health workers are providing health care services.
