National Library Day to be celebrated for five days

GANDAKI: The 16th National Library Day is being celebrated on September 1 with the slogan ‘Library for generations’.

The Libraries here are also preparing to celebrate the day with creative and meaningful programs.

Vidya Mandir Library, Baglung, one of the leading libraries of the country, established in the year 2003 BS, is going to celebrate the day with five-day-long activities.

Secretary of the library Rajan Prasad Sharma shared that various programs including cleaning of the library premises, a secondary school-level oratory competition, health check-up of library users and a discussion on reading culture have been scheduled on the occasion of the day since August 28.

The Vidya Mandir Library also runs an e-library. It is now providing services from its own facility.

Late Omprasad Gauchan and Meghkumar Vaidya are the founders of this library.
