Martyr’s Memorial A Division League: Machhindra rose to second place, Manang and APF share points

KATHMANDU: Former winner Machhindra Football Club climbed to the second position of Martyr’s Memorial A Division League on Sunday.

Machhindra climbed to second place after defeating New Road Team (NRT) by 2-0 in the match at Chyasal Ground on Sunday. Olawale Afeez and Saurabh Limbu scored in Machhindra’s victory.

Machhindra, who climbed to second place, has scored 34 points from 20 games. Defeated today, NRT is in ninth place with 23 points from the same match.

Manang Marsyangdi Club and APF Football Club played a draw and shared the points in the match played at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor today.

In the 13th minute of the game, Timothee Koudo scored a penalty and gave Manang the lead. APF equalized in the 20th minute with a goal by captain Nabin Lama.

But in the 26th minute, Sumit Shrestha scored and brought Manang to 2-1. APF equalized in the 65th minute of the game with Armand Beadoum’s goal.

Although Manang took the lead twice in the game, they were forced to share the points as they could not defend their post.
