Govt sets sugarcane purchase price at Rs 635 per quintal



KATHMANDU: The government has determined the purchase price of sugarcane, announcing it at Rs 635 per quintal.

Government Spokesperson Rekha Sharma said that the decision was made during the Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday.

Initially set at Rs 565 per quintal, the government introduced a subsidy of Rs 70 per quintal, bringing the final purchase price to Rs 635.

This move, she claimed, was aimed at supporting the sugarcane industry and ensure fair compensation for farmers.
