Police nab woman with nearly 2 kg cocaine



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police apprehended an Indian national in possession of nearly two kg cocaine at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, on Monday.

The seizure took place during a routine check of passengers arriving on a flight from Doha, Qatar.

The Narcotics Investigation Bureau team detained Kimro Sangi, a 32-year-old individual from Mizoram state, India, who had arrived via Ethiopia and Doha. The arrest occurred around 10 am on Monday.

Authorities recovered 1.973 kg cocaine from Sangi’s possession.

Reportedly, Sangi had arrived in Kathmandu and was reportedly planning to travel to Bhutan.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
