22 passengers injured in Rukum West accident



RUKUM WEST: Twenty two passengers have been injured in a jeep accident on Monday morning in Rukum-West, involving vehicle number Lu 1 J 2297.

The incident took place near the Kalegaon bridge in Chaurajahari Municipality-8 Goirijula, resulting in injuries to 22 passengers.

According to the authorities, the jeep was en route from Kholagaon to Musikot, the headquarters, when it veered off the road.

District Police Office Rukum-Paschim’s Chief, DSP Namraj Bhattarai, reported that 7 of the injured passengers are in serious condition.

The injured individuals have been promptly transported to Chaurzahari Hospital for medical attention.

Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the accident may have been caused by the jeep’s excessive speed and potential overload.
