Nepali Embassy in Israel says Bipin Joshi is reportedly under Hamas control in Gaza

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Israel has stated that Nepali national Bipin Joshi is reportedly under the control of the Hamas group.

According to Embassy sources, Joshi is believed to have been among those seized by Israel’s Kibbutz-Alumim Hamas group and subsequently transported to Gaza.

The Embassy’s statement emphasizes the uncertainty surrounding Joshi’s current condition.

“As of now, it is impossible to ascertain Joshi’s latest condition. No contact has been established, and everyone is advised that the operation is still ongoing,” the statement reads.

The situation remains fluid, and the embassy is actively monitoring the developments.

Meanwhile, a video https://twitter.com/i/status/1726319791865016493 posted by Israel Defense Forces on X says, “This is documentation from Shifa Hospital from the day of the massacre, October 7, 2023, between the hours of 10:42 a.m and 11:01 a.m. in which hostages, a Nepalese civilian and a Thai civilian, were abducted from Israeli territory are seen surrounded by armed Hamas terrorists.”

According to the vioe, one of the hostages is injured and is being carried on a hospital bed and the other is walking.
