One killed, five hurt in jeep accident



BAJHANG: A person died and five others were injured in a jeep accident that occurred on Friday at Khori of Chhabispathibhera rural municipality-7 in the district.

The deceased has been identified as Resham Mahat of Budkhori of the same ward.

According to district police chief Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bharat Bahadur Shah, the jeep (Sudurpashim Province 01001 Ja 1266) en route to Budkhori from Bhande Bazar met with the accident, causing the death of one and injuries to five.

Mahat breathed his last on the way to the district hospital. Among the injured, the condition of Prakash Dhami, 22, of Budkhori is said to be severe.

The injured passengers are being treated at the district hospital. The jeep had a total of nine people on board, including the driver, Binodh Dhami.

The accident was attributed to a brake failure and the police have taken the driver into custody for further investigation.
