Gandaki govt to give Agriculture a top priority

BAGLUNG: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey assured that the Gandaki province government would accord the highest priority to boost agriculture production.

At a program organized by Baglung Municipality in Baglung district today, CM Pandey shared that the Gandaki province government was going to introduce collective farming through cooperatives in the upcoming fiscal year 2023/24.

Pandey stated that they would encourage collective farming putting in place a clear and coherent policy.

“At the moment, it is not possible to deliver or realize if we promise of setting up industries and creating jobs. We could utilize our arable land optimally and attain prosperity by bolstering agriculture production,” he said.

The local level would be considered pocket areas and increasing production would be emphasized accordingly, he said. According to him, the province government would invest only in projects having a long-term impact.

On a different note, the CM blamed that forces rising at the behest of anarchy had further pushed the democracy and republic system into crisis.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister honored over 60 individuals from Baglung district in recognition of their significant contributions to various sectors.
